Conjunction oder Zusammenkunft nennt die Astronomie eine der 5 Hauptstellungen der Planeten, der Sonne u. des Mondes gegen einander (s. Aspecten). Zwei Gestirne sind in C., wenn beide gleiche Länge haben, so Mond u. Sonne zur Zeit des Neumonds. Trifft es sich dann, daß sie zugleich auch gleiche Breite haben, so decken sie einander (so bei den Sonnenfinsternissen.) Bei Merkur und Venus (den untern Planeten) unterscheidet man zwischen oberer (wenn die Sonne zwischen Erde u. Planeten) und unterer C. (wenn der Planet zwischen Erde und Sonne ist). Zur Zeit der C. sind die Planeten gewöhnlich unsichtbar wegen ihrer Nähe bei der Sonne.
