Daphnia, Wasserfloh, Crustaceengattung aus der Familie der Lophyropoden; der gemeine Wasserfloh (D. pulex) ist 2/3 Linien lang, röthlich, vermehrt sich wie die Blattläuse und färbt manchmal das Wasser roth.
