Ankylosis

Ankylosis, die gehemmte oder gänzlich aufgehobene Beweglichkeit eines Gelenkes; sie heißt die wahre, wenn die Flächen der beiden Gelenkknochen mit einander verwachsen sind und ist dann in der Regel unheilbar; die falsche, wenn die Gelenkbänder verwachsen sind oder anhaltender Krampf der Muskeln die Unbeweglichkeit des Gelenkes verursacht; gegen die falsche werden Einreibungen, Zugmittel, Bäder u.s.w. gebraucht. Veranlassungen der A. sind: Verletzungen, Gicht, Lustseuche, krankhafte Disposition des Organismus.
