Pergamus, Name von Troja oder vielmehr der königl. Burg daselbst. – P., Pergamum, Stadt in Mysien, Hauptstadt des um 283 v. Chr. von Philethärus gegründeten pergamenischen Reichs, das sich durch die schlaue Politik seiner Könige gegen die syr. Seleuciden behauptete u. ein Hauptsitz griech.-asiat. Bildung war. 131 v. Chr. wurde es röm. Provinz (s. Attalus u. Eumenes).
