Possessio, lat., Posseß, Besitz (s. d.); possessor, Besitzer; possessorisch, den Besitz betreffend; Possessorische Interdicte, Rechtsmittel zum Schutze des Besitzes. Interdictae retinendae possessionis, für Erhaltung des Besitzes gegen Angriffe (i. uti possidetis und utrubi); i. recuperandae possessionis für Wiedererlangung gewaltsam verlorenen Besitzes (i. de vi; i. de clandestina possessione: i. de precario).
