Speyk, Jan Carel Joseph van, geb. 1802, kommandirte 1830 eine Kanonierschaluppe vor dem aufständischen Antwerpen, und sprengte sich mit ihr in die Luft, als sie durch einen Windstoß an das belgische Ufer getrieben wurde. Die Schaluppe Nr. 2 führt auf ewige Zeit den Namen S., auch wurde ihm in der Katharinenkirche zu Amsterdam ein Denkmal gesetzt.
