Grafschaft 32 QM. groß, im nördlichen Theile gebirgig, vom Forth durchflossen, mit dem Loch Lommond, dem größten schottischen See, hat trefflich angebaute Thäler, große Steinkohlen- und Eisenlager. Die Hauptstadt S. am Forth mit 8800 E., alter goth. Kirche, altem Felsenschloß.
