Decoct

Decoct, Abkochung, Absud, nennt man in der Pharmacie die durch Abkochen fester organischer Stoffe mit Wasser erhaltene Auflösung, in welcher alsdann die wirksamen Bestandtheile jener Stoffe enthalten sind. Durch Abkochen ausgezogen werden besonders vegetabilische Stoffe, Wurzeln, Rinden, Hölzer, deren wirksame Bestandtheile aber bei der Kochhitze des Wassers nicht flüchtig sein dürfen.
