Helm, Kopfbedeckung als Schutzwaffe, von Leder oder Metall, bei den Alten und jetzt vornen offen, im Mittelalter mit einem Visir, das zuerst eine Maske war, später aber auf- u. niedergelassen werden konnte. Der H. wurde bei den Wappen eines der Hauptstücke und ruht auf dem Schilde. – Beim Destilliren der hutförmige Deckel der Destillirblase, von welchem sich unten eine schräge Röhre auf die Mündung der Kühlröhre richtet.
