Clusium, bekriegte nach der Vertreibung des Tarquinius Superbus die Römer und zwang sie zur Ergebung; gegen die Latiner focht er aber unglücklich und wich nach Clusium zurück. Die röm. Sage läßt Rom durch die Großthaten des Horatius Cocles u. Mucius Scävola gerettet werden, wogegen das ausdrückliche Geständniß des Plinius u. Tacitus spricht.
